This term, PHC's younger boarders have begun to work towards the new Boarding Skills Award. This is a scheme launched by the Boarding Schools' Association which recognises many of the important soft skills learnt in a boarding setting, such as team work, leadership and compromise. The scheme is run in conjunction with ASDAN, a national body which accredits personal and social development programmes.
PHC is one of only ten boarding schools in the UK which are involved in piloting the scheme and Year 7 and 8 boarders have been busy tackling their first challenges with great enthusiasm. There are 24 areas to complete before they can move up to the next level.
