Girls at Princess Helena College in Preston were delighted with another great set of exam results, as 75% of all examinations were passed with A*, A or B grades. Mrs Jo-Anne Duncan, Headmistress, said, “I am delighted that 97% of girls achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C grades, and it is wonderful to see a large number of girls achieving the top marks in more than 5 subjects. As a small school, we can focus on each girl's individual needs and abilities to make sure she fulfils her potential, and I congratulate all the girls and staff on their hard work.”
There was notable strength in the core subjects of English Language and Literature and Mathematics, with 97% of grades at A*, A or B in English Literature and 79% in Mathematics. There were also excellent results for all the humanities subjects. Mrs Duncan continued, “It is very positive to see girls doing so well in the core subjects and also subjects such as Religious Studies and Business Studies, which, although not included in the government's E-bacc, give girls a strong grounding for their lives ahead.”
